14-Year-Old Girl Gives Birth, Undergoing Treatment at KMC-RI in Hubballi

Hubballi, July 11: A 14-year-old girl is currently receiving treatment at the KMC-RI Nirbhaya Ward in Hubballi after giving birth earlier this week. Hospital authorities have confirmed that both the girl and the newborn are in stable condition.

According to officials, the girl delivered the baby on July 8. She is believed to have initially received treatment at a private hospital before being shifted to KMC-RI for specialized medical care. Owing to her age, she is being treated in the hospital’s Nirbhaya Ward, while the newborn is under observation in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Hospital authorities said their immediate priority has been to ensure appropriate medical care for both the mother and the baby. As the girl is a minor and is reportedly in a state of emotional distress, detailed information regarding the circumstances leading to the pregnancy has not yet been established.

Speaking to the media, Dr. Rajasekhar Dyaberi, In-charge Superintendent of KMC-RI, said the hospital admitted the 14-year-old on July 8 and has been providing the required medical treatment. He added that the newborn is also receiving care in the NICU and that both are recovering well.
